Avaaz is an organization that started back in 2007 that helps promote everything from animal rights to human rights, and they focus on promoting global activism with issues in several categories. Known for being one of the world’s biggest and most powerful online activist network, it is a place that unites people together to improve our world. They do not receive funding or money from companies or corporations. Instead, they strive to receive it all from individual members, but their initial startup was originally raised from corporations at the beginning. It worked out in the end with them raising more than $20 million.
Creating successful campaigns are not an easy overnight process. The global campaigns that they manage are created and decided upon different campaigners from 30 different countries. Communicating via email to decide upon petitions, videos, and other tools to help decide on what to do next. They also like to utilize different advertisements as a means to clarify on how to take a campaign to the right place.
Their ideology is not what most people seem to believe what they do. They operate very differently than your typical organization would. They claim to unite practical idealists around the globe into one online location. Their mission as Director Ricken Patel would say is to close the gap between the people of the world who want to come together. They strive to create greater global support for the refugees, alongside calling action on climate change and other similar incidences.
This organization is here to help govern the people around the globe, bring them together, and bring to fruition their ideals and what they believe into one location. Avaaz is very specific and hard working with what they do, and it is incredible what they have to offer to the world and change it.
